The elevator servo should be mounted in the port side of the fuselage and the slit for the rod is cut in the starboard side. The idea is - as explained in the instructions - to let the control rod cross the fuselage diagonally. Using the terms port and starboard is common practice in full size aircrafts (and other ships) and makes the meaning unambiguous. Happy landings.
